Hackney Wick FC secured another impressive away victory with a 2–1 win over Woodford Town in one of their most complete performances of the season.
From the outset, The Wickers looked sharp and purposeful, dominating possession and creating chances through David Senga, Romario Gittens and Alex Nicolaides. Their intent paid off early when Roberto Carvalho opened the scoring. Carvalho dispossessed former Wickers player Andre Anderson, battled through two challenges, and finished brilliantly.
Hackney continued to control the game and doubled their lead just before half-time. Nicolaides drove forward before slipping in captain Dan Atkinson, who smashed home his first goal for the club.
The second half followed a similar pattern, with Hackney dictating play. However, the game shifted when Tofael Tanim was shown a second yellow card and sent off, reducing The Wickers to 10 men. Woodford capitalised, converting the resulting penalty to make it 2–1.
Despite the setback, Hackney showed resilience and game management to see out the match and secure all three points.
The victory takes The Wickers past the 40-point mark in the league, a significant milestone, with just three matches remaining in the season.
