Hackney Wick FC endured one of their most difficult performances of the season as they were beaten 3–0 away by a determined White Ensign side, who avenged their earlier defeat at the Simarco Stadium.
The match began in fairly even fashion, but once White Ensign found their rhythm, the Wickers struggled to match the home side’s intensity and physicality.
First Half – Home Side Take Control
The breakthrough came in the 19th minute when Albie Keith unleashed a superb volley from outside the box to put White Ensign ahead.
Hackney failed to respond with any real threat, with the home goalkeeper largely untested throughout the half. On the stroke of half-time, a well-worked move down the left ended with Riley Weir converting from close range to double White Ensign’s lead.
Half-Time: White Ensign 2–0 Hackney Wick
Second Half – Discipline Issues Add to Frustration
The second half brought no respite for Hackney. White Ensign added a third to effectively seal the contest, while the Wickers struggled to find any fluency going forward.
To compound the frustration, substitute Khaneil Brown was shown a second yellow card and sent off for the second match in a row, with both cautions on the day viewed as harsh by those in green and gold.
Full-Time: White Ensign FC 3–0 Hackney Wick FC
A disappointing afternoon for Hackney Wick, who were outbattled across the pitch and unable to impose themselves on the game. The focus now turns to regrouping quickly, tightening up defensively, and responding with a stronger performance in the next fixture.
Come on you Wickers.
