Hackney Wick FC made it back-to-back wins at the Simarco Stadium with a convincing 4–1 victory over Frenford FC in the Essex Senior League. Despite being without top scorer Issa Sidibe through injury, the Wickers showed their attacking depth and quality, with goals from Adam Cheneti, Ben Lewis-Gold, Andre Anderson, and another late strike from Cheneti sealing the points.
With Sidibe sidelined, Leo Pola led the line and made an immediate impact. In the 10th minute, he drove down the wing and delivered a low cross for Adam Cheneti to tap home — his fifth goal of the season.
Hackney dominated the first half and should have extended their lead, but wasted a string of chances. Pola himself went close on several occasions, while Noah Ferraz also couldn’t convert when well-placed.
The score remained 1–0 at the interval, leaving Frenford still in the contest.
Hackney came out with renewed intent and were finally rewarded on the 70th minute. A deep cross to the back post was bundled in by Ben Lewis-Gold, doubling the advantage.
Frenford responded with a swift counter-attack, punishing a defensive lapse to pull one back and briefly threaten a comeback.
But the Wickers regrouped quickly. Just minutes later, last week’s FA Cup hero Andre Anderson continued his fine form, slotting home confidently from another Pola cross to restore the two-goal cushion.
Cheneti then added his second of the night — and sixth of the campaign — to round off a commanding performance and ensure a deserved 4–1 win.
It was another strong showing from Ernest’s side, who impressed in attack and showed resilience after Frenford’s goal. With key players stepping up in Sidibe’s absence, the Wickers head into the weekend’s East London Derby against Ilford full of belief and momentum.
