It was almost two just minutes later but Adam Cheniti’s brilliant volley was well saved by Royals keeper Jordan Hudson.
Against the run of play, Dunmow Town equalised as Lewis Nial struck a good volley past Bartz Klimkiewicz.
It continued to be an end-to-end game and Seb Mohammed was unlucky not to restore the Wickers’ lead as his shot curled just wide!
Dunmow Town then came close to going ahead as they struck the bar, but ultimately it was level at half-time.

Hackney Wick were having most of their joy on the counter-attack and Seb was played through but was well denied by Hudson before debutant Suleyman Zahmoul shot straight at the relieved Royals keeper.
It just wasn’t to be Seb’s night as soon after he was again denied by a brilliant save from Hudson.
And the Wickers were left to rue their missed chances as the hosts took the lead on the 75th minute, Stuart Zanone converting from close range.
Dunmow Town continued to push for another goal, heading narrowly over before missing a huge chance as they fired wide from close range.
It really should’ve been 3-1 right at the end but a brilliant save by Bartz kept the scoreline more respectable from Hackney Wick’s point of view.
