Hackney Wick FC bowed out of the League Cup after an entertaining 3–2 defeat at home to league leaders Little Oakley, bringing an end to the club’s involvement in all cup competitions this season.
It was a lively contest at the Simarco Stadium, with both sides showing attacking intent, but it was the visitors who proved more clinical at key moments.

First Half – Visitors Take Control

Little Oakley opened the scoring in the 19th minute when Kieran Williams found space in the box and finished well. Hackney tried to respond, but just before the interval the visitors struck again, with Taylor Jacobi doubling their lead to make it 2–0 at half-time.
The defeat carried a hint of revenge for Little Oakley, who had been beaten by Hackney in the league just a few weeks earlier.

Second Half – Fightback Falls Short

Hackney emerged from the break with renewed purpose and were rewarded when in-form striker Mosope Oguntuga pulled one back, scoring his fourth goal in four matches to give the home side belief.

However, that hope was short-lived as Luke Hipkin restored Little Oakley’s two-goal cushion, making it 3–1.
Hackney continued to push and were rewarded deep into stoppage time when Joshua Adeojo struck in the 93rd minute, but it proved too late to force a dramatic comeback.
