The purpose of this charity football match is to help raise funds for public access bleed control cabinets (containing bleed control kits and automated external defibrillators) to be placed outside fire stations in London. Bleed control cabinet, installation and its contents including defib outside a fire station costs £1,600 per station (manufactured by Turtle). There will be an intermittent maintenance charge for repairs, replacement pads and batteries, and bleed kit contents that expire.
The kit contains specialist equipment to help stem extreme blood loss before ambulance crews arrive. The pack is lightweight and in a high visibility red colour. It is housed in a bleed control cabinet, so it is available and accessible 24/7.
A bleed control kit can be used to stem a catastrophic bleed in any situation, including a stabbing, severe injury at work, car accident or a car vs pedestrian incident, a heavy fall, or several other different situations.
The match finshed 8-0 to The London Fire Brigade against a Hackney Wick FC Allstar Team and we have so far rasied £2225
