Hackney Wick FC’s next opponents in the FA Cup have been confirmed. The Wickers will make the trip to Surrey on Saturday 30th August to face Knaphill FC, who sealed their place in the First Qualifying Round with a dramatic extra-time winner against Hollands & Blair.
It’s another exciting chapter in what has already been a historic run for Hackney Wick. Victory at Knaphill would see the Wickers reach the Second Qualifying Round of the FA Cup for the very first time, surpassing all previous records in the competition.
Before the trip to Surrey, however, Hackney face another tough away assignment — this time in the FA Vase. Tomorrow afternoon the Wickers take on Wormley Rovers FC, with both clubs looking to progress in another prestigious national competition.
Manager Ernest will have to do without some key names for the trip, with midfielders Max Grappy, Khaniel Brown, and playmaker Mohammed Sebaihi all unavailable. However, the squad still has plenty of depth and quality, and the team will travel with belief after recent strong performances.
The Wickers have already made history this season, but the journey is far from over. With two cup ties in quick succession, this is another chance to showcase the fight, resilience, and quality that have carried the club this far.
Come on you Wickers!
