Hackney Wick were defeated in their final pre-season friendly, going down 3-2 to Surrey-based step 5 side Horley Town. It was the Wickers' 3rd defeat of pre-season, having also lost to Lewisham Borough and Witham Town. However, there were 4 wins, against Elizabeth Allen, Brightlingsea Regent, Waltham Cross, and West Essex.

Our focus now turns to the league season, which begins on Saturday (27th July), with a trip to last season's high-flyers Hutton. Kickoff is 3pm at
New Lodge (Billericay Town FC).
